Effects of corrective exercises on kyphotic angle reduction: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Introduction. Kyphosis is a deformity of the spine characterized by excessive backward curvature thoracic spine. The normal range kyphosis in teenagers 20 - 40 degrees, and diagnosis hyper-kyphosis beyond 45 degrees. aim this review was to assess magnitude effects various corrective exercises on kyphotic angle reduction. Material Methods. Web Science PubMed were searched retrieve relevant literature. Ten studies included our systematic meta-analysis. Results. correction estimated results showed statistical significance standardized mean difference (-0.504, P < 0.001). analysis subgroups regarding age heterogeneity that not statistically significant different groups. Conclusion. meta-analysis may be useful many physiotherapists clinicians solving problems patients with hyper-kyphosis.
